Zimbabwe opener Wessly Madhevere’s stumps were left in a mess by a fiery Adam Milne delivery as New Zealand continued their dominant run in the ongoing T20I tri-series in Harare.
Zimbabwe struggled after being put in to bat first. Matt Henry ran riot for New Zealand with the ball, picking up three wickets for just 26 runs. Zimbabwe finished on 120/7 in their 20 overs, a total that was always going to be tough to defend.
In response, New Zealand chased down the target with ease. Devon Conway played the anchor role to perfection, scoring an unbeaten 59. He was well-supported by Rachin Ravindra, who chipped in with a quick 30 off 19 balls, and Daryl Mitchell, who finished the job with an unbeaten 26. The visitors reached the target in just 13.5 overs and gathered an emphatic eight-wicket win.

Stumps Go for a Walk as Adam Milne’s Peach Headlines New Zealand’s Big Win vs Zimbabwe
Although New Zealand’s win was straightforward, the moment of the day belonged to Adam Milne. Having gone for 15 runs in his first two overs, the fast-bowler turned his fortunes in the third over of his spell. On the very first ball, Milne banged one in on a hard length. Wessly Madhevere, looking to open up the off side, backed away from the stumps to create room for himself. But he missed it completely.
The ball skidded through and crashed into his leg stump, which went flying in the air. It was a brutal reminder of Milne’s raw pace and accuracy.
Cricket fans on X lit up as replays of the dismissal made the rounds. Some also praised New Zealand’s performance.
New Zealand Sit Pretty on Top of Points Table
With this one-sided win, New Zealand now sit comfortably at the top of the points table. They have won both of their matches so far and have looked a class apart in all departments.
As the tri-series progresses, the Kiwis have emerged as the team to beat. Their next fixture is scheduled against South Africa on July 22 at Harare Sports Club.
