Cheteshwar Pujara comes across as a serious cricketer on the field. While off the field, he is altogether different, that's what most of the Indian players vouch for. Pujara's goofy side was tapped by Dinesh Karthik when he introduced his doppelganger amid the ongoing England vs India Test series. Karthik, who is part of the commentary panel, shared a funny video featuring Pujara and his doppelganger.
India's former number three Test batter did not expect Karthik to pull off such a stunt. However, the latter is a known prankster. He shared a video on his official Instagram account.
"What I'm going to show you right now is one cricketer and another person who looks so similar, from a completely different part of the globe. Let me show you all. This is Cheteshwar Pujara, Indian cricketer, and a man who's into broadcasting recently, and have a look at this, this is Alex Noble," he said.
The former wicketkeeper-batter also asked the two if they looked the same, as all of them shared a good laugh. The expert called Alex a proper doppelganger. For the unversed, Alex Noble is a sports reporter with BBC Sport.
Cheteshwar Pujara last played for India in 2023
It's been two years since Pujara last featured for India in whites. The veteran was last seen in the World Test Championship (WTC 2023) Final game against Australia. Since then, he has been out of favor with the Indian team. While he has still not announced retirement, it seems highly unlikely selectors will recall him.
