Indian opening batter Abhishek Sharma just turned 25 on Thursday. He celebrated his birthday at home with family and friends, with a Team India-themed cake.
The cake had a cricket design as its base, featuring a fondant figure of a player holding a bat and helmet, with stumps around it. The photo was shared by Komal Sharma on Instagram.

The 25-year-old Abhishek Sharma will feature in the upcoming Continental Cup 2025. The explosive T20I opener is expected to retain his spot despite the addition of Shubman Gill. Since Abhishek’s inclusion, Team India has enjoyed explosive starts, especially with his power-hitting early in the powerplay. The southpaw is expected to bring the same fire to the Asia Cup, where he’s likely to play a key role.

The world’s No. 1 T20I batter has played 17 matches for India, smashing 535 runs at an average of 33.43 and an impressive strike rate of around 200. He has two half-centuries and two centuries, with a career-best score of 135.
Meanwhile, spinner Ravi Bishnoi was asked in a podcast about the toughest batter he has bowled to and he named Abhishek Sharma:
“Right now, I think Abhishek Sharma is batting really well. Against him, I feel I need to bring something extra from my side. As a leg-spinner, I feel he plays me quite well. He has worked very hard in the off-season, and even now, you can see him putting in the effort day in and day out. The way he is batting, I always think about how I can improve against him. I keep trying to figure out how I can get better when I bowl to such good batters.”
Statistically, Abhishek has had the upper hand against Bishnoi smashing 37 runs off just 8 balls in the IPL, with a strike rate of over 450.
